Expression of Interest for Disability Caucus Speakers

At Better Together 2021, the Disability Caucus is looking for speakers who want to spread the word about the amazing work they are doing in the LGBTIQ+ disability community.

Are you working as an advocate, have you participated in an awesome program, are you learning about something and want the rest of the community to know about it? If you have something to share with the LGBTIQ+ disability community, this is your chance!

We are particularly excited to hear from people working, advocating or learning in these areas, but we are open to expressions of interest from different topics, including:

  • NDIS engagement, including Independent Assessment

  • Respecting the autonomy of LGBTIQ+ people with intellectual disability

  • Bodily autonomy – Intersex & CRPD

  • Experiences of inclusion and exclusion in the wider LGBTIQ+ community

  • Accessing mainstream services

  • Sex & relationships

  • Transitioning for LGBTIQ+ people with disabilities

  • Multicultural, multifaith community

  • Intersectionality

Speaking time will be approximately 6 minutes per speaker and this is a voluntary position.

The Disability Caucus will be held the day before Better Together 2021:

9:30am – 12:30pm
17th June 2021
U City, Franklin Street, Adelaide SA

Please download the Expression of Interest and contact Emma O’Loughlin at disability@theequalityproject.org.au to submit your applications prior to 3pm on 14th May 2021.
