Join the Rainbow Gathering for Change
We’re thrilled to invite Australia’s rainbow communities and our allies to our 6th National LGBTIQA+ Community Conference, Better Together® 2024, from 14-15 June 2024 in Djilang, Wadawurrung Country (Geelong, Victoria) at GMHBA Stadium - Kardinia Park. More than just a conference, this national gathering is a collective effort uniting us to explore critical issues, cultivate learning, and build alliances for a fairer, more just society for all Australians.
At Better Together® 2024, expect a vibrant and welcoming space designed to foster meaningful connections and catalyse change. The program boasts hands-on workshops, thought-provoking panel discussions, and our new BetterThink talks, inspired by the short format of TED Talks, diving deep into the most important topics facing Australia’s rainbow communities in under 20 minutes to spark ideas to “think better”.
This gathering is a warm embrace of diversity, welcoming members of Australia’s LGBTIQA+ communities, allies and organisations from across Australia. We open our doors to rural and regional areas, multicultural and multi-faith communities, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities, the Deaf community, refugees and people seeking asylum, individuals with a lived experience of disability and our invaluable allies.
Join us in redefining the term "conference," creating an accessible event where anyone with a relevant idea is encouraged to participate. With support from our partners and sponsors, we’re proud to provide accessible pricing and conference scholarships, providing opportunities for people who don’t often get a chance participate in a gathering of this kind.
We know that navigating diverse perspectives can pose challenges and complexities. At Better Together® we acknowledge this reality and actively encourage attendees to open their hearts and minds, address challenges head-on, and engage in conversations with the goal of connection and understanding. It's through these exchanges that genuine and meaningful change can begin to flourish.
